About

Mark Spowart is a freelance photojournalist and commercial photographer in London Ontario.  From the time he was 10 years old he could often be found with a camera around his neck photographing class trips and family vacations.

Between high school and university he worked for the London Free Press and found his passion for journalism and documentary photography.  At the University of Western Ontario he wrote and shot for the school paper – The Gazette –  then went on to study photojournalism at Loyalist College, one of Eastern Canada’s premier photojournalism programs

As a freelance photographer and stringer for Canadian Press Images, Spowart covers breaking news, sports, entertainment and ongoing personal documentary projects from his home in London Ontario.  His work has appeared in numerous newspapers, magazines and on websites across Canada, the United States, Europe and Norway.  He files his editorial work to Canadian Press Images in Toronto and Alamy Reportage in England.

Mark Spowart Photography is the commercial side of the business and through this blog and his website www.spowart.photoshelter.com he licenses his editorial and stock images.  Spowart is available for assignment and commission work.
