A few weeks ago I had an assignment for the National Post to photograph an entrepreneur who had created a new delivery option for individuals when they order a product on-line. It has been a busy couple of weeks. Will be posting work over the next few days from recent assignments. This picture was part of a story I shot for the Globe and Mail. Electro Motive – CLOSED.

Just over one month after locking its employee’s out, Caterpillar announced on Friday that it would be closing the Electro Motive facility in London and moving the 450 jobs to Muncie Indiana. One day after the announcement stunned the Union, city and workers, workers returned to the picket line. Ken Lewenza, president of Canadian Auto Workers has indicated that the workers will continue to picket the facility until a fair and equitable severance package can be negotiated. It took overtime for the London Lightning to defeat the Oshawa Power on Sunday at the JLC. If the close game did not have fans on the edge of their seats, seeing Gabe Freeman on crutches in the second half of the game after rolling his ankle surely would have. Both Freeman and Shawn Daniels are listed day to day, Freeman for the rolled ankle and Daniels for a possible concussion. Ingersoll Ontario, Canada – January 30, 2012. Members of Canadian Auto Workers Union local 27 from left to right Jim Dafoe, Tyler Rowe, Christine Rowe and Jeff Rowe keep a watch over an assembled but yet to be painted locomotive that was manufactured in London at ElectroMotive. The company owned by Caterpillar locked out its workers on January 1, 2012. Caterpillar is seeking a court injunction that would allow the engine to move from Ingersoll to the paint shop to be painted and delivered. The London Knights hosted the Windsor Spitfires at the JLC on Friday night. After a shaky first period start that saw a Knights goal called back and a Windsor penalty shot, the Knights went on to win the game 5-2. Here Michael Houser makes a save – without his stick – during the second period.
